"I wasn't able to race in the 25hr last year, but I've been working to get back and can't wait to reunited with MPME, and my 2005 co-driver Gary Sheehan behind the wheel of the SPEED touring Car Scion."
While Sievwright has been away from the 25 Hour race for two years, he's kept busy racing in NASA's U.S. Touring Car Championship, and test driving in GrandAm Rolex GT machinery. "I'm fortunate to make a living working with Evosport in Huntington Beach, California--our motto is 'From the street, to the track,' and that's exactly how I help our customers--to assist them with the best performance products for their cars, or to aid them at the track to become better drivers or to tune their chassis. Getting to do the same in purebred racing cars like I do with USTCC or Rolex cars is just icing on the cake."
The light weight, high power combo in the Scion's front wheel drive platform isn't something Jamaican-born driver is concerned about. "Sure, it's different than the BMW's or Porsche's I've raced more recently, but I started racing in front wheel drive cars--that's where I have the most experience, actually. The Scion should be a blast."
As one of a number of drivers in the MPME team, the opportunity to share the car and experience with other veteran drivers was of particular interest. "I already mentioned how much I enjoyed racing with Gary in 2005--he's an absolute pro. Mark Hotchkis is someone I've always admired and followed as he ascended the pro racing ranks into victory circle--we should have a lot of fun together. Racing with Matt Varsha and Tanner Foust should also be great--they've both accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. I'm also looking forward to racing with Dave Pratte from Modified Magazine--I've read that mag for years, so seeing our car and team in an issue next year will be awesome."
