Team Sampson Racing Communications Gunning for Second Win at 2007 NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill

Team SRCAfter taking the EO class victory at the 2005 edition of NASA's 25 Hours of Thunderhill, the Sampson Racing Communications team returns in search of win number two with their 1986 Mazda RX-7. Powered by Mazda's venerable rotary engine, the RX-7 will hit the track this year with a host of performance upgrades, including brilliant PIAA lamps, a Tein Super Racing suspension system, an AiM MyChron MXL data acquisition system with LCD display, a Jerico 4-speed gearbox and new body and paint work. The team also enjoys technical and sponsorship support from Mazdaspeed, Star Shield Armor, Mobicanics, Motul and Sparco.

The driver line-up for 2007 is unique in that it features racers who all compete in rotary-powered Mazda RX-7's throughout the regular racing season. Drivers include:

Shawn Sampson: 4-time 25 Hour competitor and 2005 class winner currently racing in NASA's Western Endurance Racing Championship series
Scott Webb: NASA 25 Hour and NASA/SCCA endurance racing veteran, and Sampson's WERC RX-7 teammate. (www.ScottWebb.com)
Dave Beatie: 3-time 25 Hour competitor and current Mazda GT Series driver.
Jim Waggaman: 3-time 25 Hour competitor and current Mazda GT Series driver.
B. Stebbens: 3-time 25 Hour competitor and current Mazda GT Series driver.

As with any endurance race, communication and strategy will play a key role in pursuing victory. Having Sampson Racing Communications equipment on board and in the pits will certainly give the team the tools necessary to maximize this aspect of their performance.
