Team MiataCage.com announced today that they will participate in the 2008 National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 25 Hours of Thunderhill, Presented by the U.S. Air Force, December 6-7 at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, CA. With support from MiataCage.com, Wyatt Fire Protection, E&L Auto Parts, Clackamas Midas, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development and Ed Pavone, Team MiataCage.com will campaign a Mazda Miata in the E2 class. The E2 class is hotly contested, with more than 17 teams competing, and it is also the class where many of the best drivers from the very competitive Spec Miata class will run. The E2 class requires a fine balance of driver ability, reliability, and teamwork.
Team captain and driver, Ken Sutherland will join with Jonny Davies, Brian Towey, and Bruce Wilson as co-drivers in the race. The driving team has numerous accomplishments in both club and pro racing, including many wins, podiums, and pole positions in the Miata Cup pro series. Sutherland and Wilson finished in the top five in the highly competitive 2008 Oregon Region Spec Miata Championship. Sutherland, Davies and Towey are all past Spec Miata regional champions and Sutherland has held the Northern Pacific Divisional SM Championship title for two years running. While this is the first visit to the 25 Hours of Thunderhill race for Team MiataCage.com, the drivers and crew have achieved previous winsin multiple endurance races, including this year's 12 Hours of the Cascades, the 2006 8 Hours of the Cascades and the infamous 24 Hours of LeMons in December 2007.
