A TOUR OF THE COUNTRY FOR BERG RACING BEFORE THEY TAKE THE GREEN FLAG!!
WILLOWS, CA - November 29, 200
With 4 Americans and one Canadian, what could be more fun than a 25 hour race? Nothing, if you ask them; as a group or individually. Berg Racing will make it's first trip to Thunderhill Raceway across country with a group of racers that have known each other (for the most part!) for years in a different racing life...
So, what do 4 of the 5 drivers have in common, you might ask? They all met during events with the former race group known as the Panoz Racing Series. When that series was sold, Susan Krohn, Richard Watson, Richard Picut and John Linster looked at each other and said "that can't be the end!". Enter, John Weisberg, owner of BERG Racing. With his skill in building cars and finding a top-notch crew, he was a perfect match for the group looking for some continued fun at the track. With all of their careers pulling them in different directions, racing is the way to keep the friendships that they have become attached to going. With Brad Adams (who is unable to attend this time), they find their hobby is something they look forward to as often as possible.
Car #95, owned by Richard Watson, was built and now maintained by BERG Racing. John Weisberg, who co-won the 2007 Kumho Tires Endurance Championship Series (Overall and ITS class) with driver Richard Picut, is pleased to be associated with the group. "This crazy group is not only successful in their business lives, but fun to be around and VERY competitive out on the track. I would not be surprised if the 4 of them finish very well at this event with their racing skills and the fact that they drive so well together." John Weisberg is also listed as a driver on the car.
So, California, HERE WE COME! From Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas & Calgary, Canada!
The 25 Hours of Thunderhill is held in Willows, California ever y year and sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). It is the longest endurance race in North America.
